The spinning blue symbol on the home page is my personal logo. Its shape simulates the katakana "ka", whose sound matches the beginning of my first name. The crossed horizontal bar shapes an "a", the first letter of my last name. The most clever ones will notice that the bar is rigid, which is a feature of the Western alphabet, while the rest keeps the original Japanese plasticity.

I met manga in 1995 in a club meant for manga and anime fans called Neo-V. The neat and luring manga style encouraged me enough to adapt my drawing style to it. In October 1999 I formally started a manga course at the Peruvian-Japanese Culture Center, which stands till now.

I began making my site in Frontpage and enjoyed for a pretty while the practical functions and environment of this program. Dreamweaver was to come next with more advantages and just a few disadvantages. It was a happy coincidence that I have become uwilling to include any more thumbnails because of the tedious work it entailed, and the fact that Dreamweaver doesn´t have the option "automatic thumbnail" in sight. However, I still miss that great Frontpage´s feature of jumping from one page to another just by clicking the proposed link while editing the site, instead of going to the expected preview option (F12). All in all, it`s Dreamweaver`s shot now and it has come to stay.

In this new version I have included also some old pictures together with the new ones. So, I you have missed them, now you will have a better chance.

I want to thank my friend Tulio Carrasco del Solar, whose expertise in computing was of great help in the hosting arrangements and the first uploads of this site, which are always the hardest.

El símbolo azul de la carátula es mi logo. Su forma simula el katakana "ka", cuyo sonido coincide con el inicio de mi primer nombre. La barra horizontal cruzada forma una "a", la primera letra de mi apellido. Los más avispados se darán cuenta de que esta barra es plana y rígida, como en el alfabeto occidental, mientras el resto mantiene la plasticidad típica de la escritura japonesa.

Conocí el manga en 1995 en un club para aficionados al género llamado Neo-V. El estilo fino y atractivo del manga me animó a tal punto que decidí adaptar el estilo de dibujo que tenía hasta entonces al del manga. En octubre del 99 se inició formalmente el taller de manga en el Centro Cultural Peruano Japonés, y su dictado se da hasta el día de hoy.

Empecé haciendo este site en Frontpage y disfruté por un buen tiempo de las funciones y el entorno prácticos de dicho programa. El Dreamweaver vendría después con mayores ventajas y unas cuantas desventajas. Fue una feliz coincidencia que me haya vuelto renuente a incluir más miniaturas por el trabajo tedioso que ello implicaba y al mismo tiempo el Dreamweaver no tuviera la opción de "miniatura automática" a la vista. Sin embargo, aún extraño esa capacidad del Frontpage de saltar de una página a otra con sólo cliquear el link en el mismo entorno de edición, en lugar de ir a la consabida opción de previsualización (F12). Con todo, es ahora el turno del Dreamweaver y al parecer ha venido para quedarse.

En esta nueva versión he incluido algunas ilustraciones antiguas junto con las nuevas que van apareciendo. Así que, en caso de no haberlas visto en su momento, ahora tienes una mejor oportunidad.

Quiero agradecer a mi amigo Tulio Carrasco del Solar, cuya experiencia en cómputo fue de gran ayuda en los arreglos del host y las primeras actualizaciones de este site, que siempre son las más difíciles.
